Thank you so much for all of the love & support on my last posts. I really have loved seeing your feedback!
Update: *thanks* to my incessant tweeting & blogging, the temp has FINALLY dropped & fall is back in full swing. I literally could not be happier. with a chill in the air & a crunch in my step I can finally pull out all of my favorites. jackets, flannels, all of the denim, & my favorite: Leather.
my- oh- my how I love leather. you can go from classy to casual to business to a rocker chick- all in the name of leather. Leather jackets, skirts, bags, shoes, accents- all of it- so good.
Fall is my favorite season for leather. Why? Summer- too hot. Winter- too cold. Spring- eh, lets pull out all of the colors & like patterns. Fall? That's the season of start ups & School & new relationships- a second New Year's- if you think about it.
Today I am going to show you some of my favorite ways to wear leather! I think it's always fun to come up with new combos & Interesting pieces that make you feel alive & excited to wear & tell people about it. It's just another art form.

Red. is. iconic.
It's Memorable, Breathtaking, & Relatable. There's literally a song called "Red"- (shoutout to t -swift ) . Red, in my opinion is even better on a leather jacket. Two things that both make a statement- all in one. I love this jacket because it adds a pop to every outfit I pair it with. People literally have been known to know me by my RLJ... I know everyone does not like red though- so there's always blue, green, yellow, pink, classic black, & brown leather to play with.
I love to style my RLJ with jeans, a graphic tee, & booties! I think the key with colored leather- because it's already a big statement piece- is to keep the rest of your outfit simple & monochromatic.
(BLACK IS ALWAYS SAFE!)
An additional note- I almost always buy vegan leather and my favorite store to buy from - for colored leather- is forever 21. You can click on the pictures above for a link to the jacket.
p.s. - Red is sold out online, but not in stores!

Leather skirts are so very fickle.
I feel like they're one of those things that will never go out of style, but it depends on the year to determine where they're appropriate to wear them to.
Sometimes they're appropriate to wear to work, sometimes they're not.
Sometimes they are the perfect statement piece, & sometimes you're just not in the right crowd to wear them. User discretion.
My favorite way to style leather skirts is to pair them with a really fun blouse that makes a statement with a pop of color in your shoes.
Guys- this whole outfit cost me a total of $50.
I think the most expensive piece was the necklace- and that was because I got it full price at a boutique. I kid you not- the skirt, shoes, & shirt cost me $30 total between two thrift stores- Plato's Closet & Clothes Mentor. I love thrift stores.
They're literally my slice of heaven !
ps- As much as I would love to link a skirt- talbots currently does not have anything like this & neither does anyone else for under $200.
but- I've been looking for a piece like this for years and finally just found it- so- Happy thrifting!
So, I LOVE this embroidered everything trend that's in right now.
Flowers, tigers, tumblr quotes- all of it.
Who knew that our Grandma's hobby would slip back into style ?
(answer: the hipsters)
I swear everywhere I look women, children, men, teenagers- they're sitting at their local Starbucks with headphones in their ears and embroidery hoops in their hands.
If you are fortunate enough to know how to embroider well-
head to Salvation Army and pick up shirts, jackets, pants, purses, boots- embroider everything.
If you are like me and WAAAAyyy too lazy to even try, or you were tired of pricking your finger and bleeding on your clothes - head to literally any store and you will find embroidered everything.
When I found this jacket I literally couldn't not buy it.
Not only were the colors perfect, it was leather, (ok- pleather), it fit like a glove, and it was EMBROIDERED! (Did I mention On Sale too??) Anyways- i t was a Dry-Goods-Clearance-Rack-must-buy.
I highly encourage you to find an embroidered leather jacket that has something on it that represents you.
I think that wearing a piece like this not only makes you stand out,
but it gives you another unique voice for your sense of style.
I did an entire post on this outfit!
If you click on the pics it'll take you to that and the links!
Happy embroidering loves!

I LOVE so many things about outfit #1 ... but that's for a later post.
so, let's just focus on the accents. Leather Shoes. Leather Bag. All tied together with the leather panel on this cardigan.
I love accenting outfits with a little leather... or A LOT of leather.
I feel like some fashion bloggers would say that you should not have that much leather in an outfit - but in my opinion, as long as you aren't breaking out the Ross Gellar leather pants, you're fine.
All I can say in this matter is that you should have fun with it!!
Pick your pieces and make it fun or monochromatic or dull... if you're like that...
Make sure you have a pop of color or texture or pattern
to offset it- I had all three!
Outfit #2 incorporated leather paneling on a backpack and with absolutely no other leather, just shades of blue!
Just have fun- remember this is your canvas that you're painting.
